This Appointment Is: A comprehensive introductory session designed to set you up for success in your private Pilates or fitness journey. Your instructor will thoroughly review your health history, fitness background, injuries, limitations, and goals, then introduce you to the equipment through a guided physical assessment. You’ll experience basic exercises that help your instructor understand your current movement patterns, strength, flexibility, and any compensation patterns or areas needing special attention. This is your foundation session—where we gather essential information to create your personalized training plan.
This Appointment Is Not: A full workout or training session. While you will move and try exercises, the primary focus is assessment, education, and planning—not achieving a fitness result. You may break a light sweat during the physical assessment portion, but this is an introductory, information-gathering appointment.

Your instructor will ask detailed questions about:
- Past and current injuries
- Surgeries or medical conditions
- Pain or discomfort patterns
- Previous fitness experience
- Daily activities and lifestyle
- Specific limitations or concerns

You’ll perform basic movements while your instructor observes:

- Breathing patterns
- Any compensation or asymmetries

This Appointment Is: A private fitness training session utilizing NASM’s integrated training model to help you achieve your specific fitness goals. Your trainer designs completely personalized programs that incorporate core training, balance work, and strength building into a comprehensive, results-driven approach. Each session strategically applies training progressions and overload principles to ensure you’re continually improving, getting stronger, and moving toward your goals efficiently and safely.
This Appointment Is Not: Generic personal training or one-size-fits-all programming. This isn’t random exercises thrown together—it’s systematic, evidence-based training designed around YOUR body, YOUR goals, and YOUR progress. It’s also not Pilates-based training; this is functional fitness training using weights, resistance, cardio, and athletic movements.
What Makes Private Fitness Training Different: Complete individualization—every exercise, set, rep, and weight is chosen specifically for you. Your trainer’s full attention for 45 minutes, immediate form corrections, progression at YOUR exact pace, and accountability that keeps you consistent.
NASM certification represents gold-standard, evidence-based training methodology. The integrated training model ensures balanced development across all fitness components—not just strength, but also stability, balance, power, and functional movement.
No specific fitness level required—complete beginners to advanced athletes welcome.
Perfect For: People who want expert, personalized fitness programming; those seeking accountability and motivation; clients with specific strength or performance goals; individuals tired of random workouts without results; busy people wanting efficient, effective training; anyone intimidated by gym environments but ready to commit; those recovering from injury and rebuilding fitness (with clearance); and clients wanting education to eventually train independently.

This Appointment Is: A specialized private Pilates session designed for clients managing injuries, illnesses, or conditions that limit mobility or require therapeutic modifications. Your instructor creates highly individualized programming that addresses your specific limitations, works around restrictions, supports healing and recovery, and safely builds strength within your body’s current capabilities. This is rehabilitative, restorative Pilates—meeting you exactly where you are and progressing at a pace appropriate for your condition.
This Appointment Is Not: Physical therapy or medical treatment. While Therapeutic Solo sessions are designed to support healing, recovery, and functional improvement, your instructor is a movement specialist, not a medical professional. These sessions complement—not replace—treatment from physicians, physical therapists, or other healthcare providers. You must have medical clearance for exercise from your healthcare team before beginning.
What Makes Therapeutic Solo Different from Regular Solo: Higher level of individualization and modification, specific focus on injury recovery or condition management, slower progression appropriate for healing timelines, extensive use of props and equipment modifications for safety and accessibility, close monitoring of pain and compensation patterns, collaboration with your medical team’s restrictions and recommendations, and specialized knowledge of working with complex conditions.
Perfect For: Clients managing chronic conditions requiring ongoing modifications; those recovering from injury or surgery; pregnant clients or new mothers in postpartum recovery; breast cancer patients in treatment or recovery; individuals with osteoporosis, scoliosis, or spinal issues; anyone with pain limiting their movement; people transitioning from physical therapy to independent exercise; those needing specialized attention for complex health situations; and clients seeking gentle, restorative movement practice.
Some clients eventually transition from Therapeutic Solo to regular Solo if:
- Condition has healed or stabilized
- Medical restrictions have been lifted
- Pain is managed or eliminated
- Mobility significantly improved
- Confidence in body restored
- Medical team clears unrestricted exercise
Your instructor will discuss transition timing with you when appropriate. Many clients choose to remain in Therapeutic Solo long-term for ongoing condition management.
Long-Term Therapeutic Solo Practice:
Many clients continue Therapeutic Solo for months, years, or indefinitely because:
- Chronic conditions require ongoing management
- Consistent practice maintains function and mobility
- Relationship with instructor provides accountability
- Sessions prevent regression or flare-ups
- It becomes essential self-care and pain management
- Quality of life dramatically improves with regular practice

This Appointment Is: A private, personalized Pilates session designed for clients who want individualized attention and programming without significant injuries, illnesses, or conditions limiting mobility. Your instructor tailors each session to your goals, progress, and how your body feels that day, using a combination of Pilates equipment (reformer, Cadillac, chair, ladder, barrels), mat work, and props. This is YOUR time—fully customized instruction where the workout adapts to you, not the other way around.
This Appointment Is Not: Physical therapy or rehabilitation-focused training. While Solo sessions build strength, improve mobility, and support overall wellness, they’re designed for generally healthy bodies capable of full ranges of motion. If you have significant injuries, chronic conditions, or mobility limitations requiring therapeutic modifications, Therapeutic Solo is the appropriate session type.
What Makes Solo Different from Group Classes: Complete individualization—every exercise, every repetition, every cue is specifically for YOUR body and goals. Your instructor’s full attention for 45 minutes, immediate form corrections, progression at YOUR pace, flexibility to address what your body needs that day, and use of all studio equipment (not just what fits a group format).
Typical Frequency Recommendations:
- 1x/week: Maintenance, supplement to other training, busy schedule
- 2x/week: Steady progress, balanced approach, most common
- 3x/week: Accelerated results, dedicated practice, significant goals
Your instructor will recommend frequency based on your goals and consultation assessment.
Perfect For: Clients who value personalized attention and instruction; those with busy schedules needing flexible session content; practitioners wanting to progress at their own pace; people who thrive on individualized programming; clients supplementing group classes with private work; anyone seeking deeper understanding of Pilates practice; and individuals with specific goals requiring customized approach.
